Training

Are you having problems with your dog dragging you down the street, not coming when you call them or any other problems? Set up a stay with us at Blaine Kennels to train your dog. All dogs are different for how long they need to stay, and it depends on what problems need fixing. Two to three days won’t do it, it needs to be a week or longer.

Your pet goes out three times a day in addition to being trained on any existing problems or to learn manners on a leash or maybe more advance training off the leash. Just let us know what you’d like us to work on while your pet is here. We also offer collar conditioning to teach your dog to come.

We encourage you to call, because we take all dogs and owners as individuals. Set up a time at 763-786-3616.

Obedience Classes

At Blaine Kennels we offer beginner obedience classes for you and your dog. Our classes run Monday through Thursday evenings. Times are 6:15 to 7:00 p.m. and 7:15 to 8:00 p.m. We only allow 8 to 10 dogs per class in order to give everyone in the class the amount of help they’ll need in training their dog. The whole family is welcome to come and attend class. This way everyone can see just how they should be training the dog when they are at home. Our obedience classes run for 7 straight weeks. We work on teaching your dog to heel, come when they are called, to sit and stay, stand and stay, and lay down and stay. A six foot leash and up-to-date shots are required to attend our classes.

We have an air conditioned and heated training room to make class comfortable. We also have trainers available 7 days a week to help you with any questions you may have.

We recommend that you come in for an evaluation so we can help you with common puppy training problems like biting, barking, chewing, jumping up, potty training, etc. Call us as soon as you get your new puppy (763) 786-3616. We know you’ll be happier and a lot less frustrated after our expert advice from our trainers.

When you sign up for class, we have you and your dog come in for a free evaluation. Bring your shot records in and pay for class at this time. This way, the first night of class we get started in training you and your pet. We will show you how to get started on teaching your dog to heel and sit too.

Colleen - Obedience Trainer and Owner

YO! My name is Colleen. I've been training dogs for over 20 years. I enjoy my Monday night classes. I believe in having a good time in what ever I do. Go ahead ask any of my students. I only allow 8 to 10 dogs in my class so you get the most out of your training. All you have to do is call 763-786-3616 and any of my employees can help you sign your dog up for a free evaluation with your dog and see what we need to do next. Every dog and their owner has their own special problem, so we want to see them before class starts. Pay for class, show your shot records and we start class the very first night with training. I'm a big one on getting started that 1st night so you and your pet can go home and practice what you've learned. We also have people here 7 days a week to help you and if the person answering the phone can't help they will get someone who can help you. I hope to meet you soon.

Tiffany - Obedience Trainer and Manager

What’s up? I’m Tiffany and I’ve been working at Blaine Kennels for seven years already. I can’t believe it went by so fast. I went to school to be a paralegal, but working downtown in a stuffy office wasn’t my thing. I’ve had dogs and horses my whole life. I love animals and never imagined being able to work with them for a living. Here I have the best of all worlds. I bring my dogs to work with me and spend the day with them and get paid for it. I meet all sorts of different kinds of dogs. The people are great too. Everyone I work with are very nice, hard working and we all love animals so it’s fun to have something in common. We do stuff with our dogs in between our work schedules. We take them swimming or to a dog park or sometimes just play in our training room here at the kennel. I teach obedience classes here. I enjoy helping people with their new dogs. I currently have two dogs myself. Bailey is my nine year old

Striker LOVES Halloween!
Chesapeke Bay Retriever. He was trained here by Dale eight years ago. Bailey is a hunting machine. He loves to retrieve and swim! My other dog is Striker. He is my five year old German Shorthaired Pointer. He is from Blaine Kennels. I waited a long time for him. His mom is Rosie. Some of you might know who she is. He is another hunting machine. He loves to retrieve more than most retrievers. I can’t keep him out of the water and once he’s in it’s hard to get him out! My dogs are my only children so they do get spoiled. They have the run of the house and love to sleep with me and my husband in our bed. What a big happy family! Stop by and say hi to me and my guys.
